DIRECTOR and choreographer Gary Lloyd has created not so much a jukebox musical more a stunning concert like show that celebrates the music from the undisputed king of pop from across the decades. Beginning in the 70's highlighting MJ's fame in the Jackson 5 (I was disappointed to see a video of the young Michael singing Rockin' Robin tho) followed by Motown, disco and his solo career in to the 80's and the superstar's massive hits of the 90's.

Unashamedly, there is no story line just hugely impressive stats with tributes by the cast outlining his incredible achievements throughout his career.

Thriller Live is delivered by five very talented lead performers, on the opening night the female lead vocalist was understudy Angelica Allen who gave a solid and assured performance.

The high octane music is played by a vibrant six piece band led by Musical Director Mike Lindup with cameo appearances from guitar and bass, although for the majority of the time they cannot be seen as they are located behind a minimalistic bridge stage set which is skilfully used.

This production is a wonderful celebration of Michael Jackson's musical genius and to those dazzling dance routines which are sensational, performed by the magnificent dancers.

Of the shows many highlights I especially appreciated the segment that included Man in the Mirror, They Don't Care About Us and Earth Song all very poignant which for me also say a lot about his humanitarian work that resulted in a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Then one of the magic moments, alone on stage music ratcheted up a few knots, trilby, single white glove - a sizzling performance as Sean Christopher produced the iconic moonwalk to Billie Jean well worth the wait, a real humdinger.

With around 30 songs, fabulous singing, dancing and costumes combined with great lighting Shake Your Body and go see this February Thriller.

He may no longer be with us but what an impact and legacy he left behind for us to enjoy forever more - you do not have to be a MJ fan to love this show.

Runs until Saturday, 20th February.
