A COOKERY masterclass will be held at a Worcester care home for anyone interested nutrition and healthy eating in old age.

The Care UK team at Perry Manor, in Charles Hastings Way, will host the free event on Wednesday, March 2 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

James Clear, hotel services manager at Care UK, will lead the session and share practical advice on healthy eating and hydration for older people.

And visitors can try sample dishes prepared by the care home’s head chef, Peter James McGregor.

Mr McGregor said: "By supporting residents to eat and drink well, and helping them to overcome any obstacles that may prevent this, we can boost their health – even relieving aches and pains and increasing mental wellbeing.

"By hosting a free event on the subject, we can provide the people of Worcester with expert advice, inspiration and the opportunity to find out more about the importance of healthy eating in later life."
