FOUR members of Malvern Hills Round Table will be taking on the Ben Nevis Challenge later this year to raise money for the fight against motor neurone disease.
On Saturday, June 18, Ben Allman, Alex Saunders-Smith, Nigel Harte and Rhys Humm will be scaling Scotland's tallest mountain, before cycling 25 miles across the Highlands, and finishing the day by crossing Loch Lomond in canoes.
Mr Humm said: "We are offering our support to motor neurone disease after one of Malvern Round Table’s members sadly lost his father to the disease last year.
"We have been training since January, meeting regularly to stomp up the Malvern Hills before jumping on our bikes, but we are waiting for slightly warmer weather and lower water before we get in the canoes."
The fundraising has already started: a recent quiz evening at the Red Lion, Stiffords Bridge, hosted by Andy and Kim Lannie, raised £237.
