THE thatched roof of a cottage in Offenham was damaged after a fire broke out on Sunday afternoon.
Crews from Hereford and Worcester Fire Service were called to the fire at Mercia Cottage, in Main Street, Offenham, at 12.33pm on Sunday, (March 20).
Firefighters from Evesham, Pebworth, Pershore and Upton-upon-Severn fire stations attended and battled to prevent the fire spreading to other thatched roof properties nearby.
Main Street was closed for several hours while the emergency services were at the scene.
Firefighters used hose reels, a roof ladder, working at height gear, a thermal imaging camera, and compressed air foam to extinguish the fire, and made the scene safe.
