A CHILDREN'S author recently visited a Worcester school.
Will Mabbitt, author of the ‘Mabel Jones’ series of children’s books, spoke to students at Oldbury Park Primary school in St John's.
The children in Key Stage 2 enjoyed the experience of meeting and listening to him after he grabbed their attention with tales of Mabel Jones and her adventures.
Mr Mabbitt read from his books and also drew pictures and created stories.
Each class was also provided with copies of his books so that all children can share the magic of the stories.
The school wanted to give the children the opportunity to meet a real author to see the link between how ideas could be transferred from heads to paper.
Staff hope the visit will help children be inspired to write their own stories in school and at home.
