An inaugural exhibition has recently opened at Newent's newest attraction, the Gallery@The Shambles.
The ‘Genesis’ exhibition opened on April 2 with a focus on local talent.
The ‘Gallery @ The Shambles’ is the brainchild of four local business people and friends, Ian and Mary Jones and Richard and Hazel Cutting.
A spokesman said: "Taking over a unit in ‘The Shambles’, in Church Street, they have transformed it into a light, airy gallery."
Focussing on local artists, the Gallery is proving popular.
Exhibitors include Amanda Hamilton, Sharon White, Steve Anstee, Hannah Ferguson, Sarah Warrington, Kip Kavallares, Professor Andrew Stonyer and Ray Hill.
Mr Cutting said: "The standard of the art in our first exhibition is outstanding and we are extremely lucky and privileged to have them showing with us."
The venue also has an area for artists to come and work in and bookings are being taken for this and future exhibitions.
