A DEVOTED daughter has secured her ‘mum in a million’ a very special honour.
Kiran Kaur nominated her mother Narinder Manku in a competition run by Webbs Garden Centre, in Wychbold, near Droitwich, to mark Mother's Day.
Mrs Manku was then chosen for the honour of planting the first ‘mum in a million’ rose in the Spectrum Gardens at the garden centre.
The pink floribunda rose bearing her name and ‘mum of the year’ title will remain in the garden all year round for visitors to enjoy.
Mrs Kaur, of Bromsgrove, said, “My mum is such a lovely person, she is so supportive and caring, she is one of the most selfless people I know.
“I have two daughters and she has been there for me to help me through all the nappies and the night time wake ups.
“Even when I went back to work she helped me out by looking after the kids even though she was working.
“Honestly, myself and my sisters and brother are just so lucky.”
Ed Webb, chairman of Webbs, said, “We had many wonderful comments about mums and grandmothers shared with us in the competition.
“It’s lovely to be able to help make a special memory and celebrate motherly love with Narinder and Kiran and the planting of the mum in a million rose.
“We are all looking forward to see it blossom this summer and for many more to follow.”
