FREIGHT transportation fans are in for a feast when scores of lorries in every colour imaginable roll into town.

Evesham Truck Show attracted around 170 trucks to Ashdown Farm, in Badsey Road, Evesham, when it held its first ever event last year and this year they expect many more.

The show is the vision of Lisa Beasley, of local company H & I Transport, and will take place on April 23 and 24, again at Ashdown Farm, between 9am and 8pm on the Saturday and between 9am and 3pm on Sunday.

She had been to many truck shows the previous year and thought that with all the transport companies and drivers in the Vale that a show in the area would be well received.

Last year's inaugural show was a huge success with most exhibitors signing up for this year before they had left the showground.

"We were unsure how well the show would be received last year and we were blown away by the support the show received," she said. "The amount of people that attended enjoyed the show so much they were trying to book in their trucks again for 2016 before they left the show on the Sunday afternoon. This motivated us to put the show on again this year and make it bigger and better than last year's event."

Although trucks will be the star attraction, there will be a host of entertainment or all the family. There will be live music on Saturday and a number of local bands will be playing.

The music will be accompanied by local dance group, United Dance Academy, as well as trade stands, a food village with a wide range of food available and a selection of fairground rides.

The Fleece Inn, at Bretfordton, will be providing the drinks.

On Friday April 22 there will be an an inter-school football tournament organised by St Andrew's School, at Hampton. A total of eight schools will be competing in the tournament between 12pm and 4pm. Once the schools have finished there will be one more match between a team from Touch FM and a team from Evesham Truck show.

Money raised at the show will be donated to local charities.

Trucks from H & I Transport will be outside the Tesco store, in Evesham, on April 16 and 17 to highlight the forthcoming show and Evesham Sea Cadets will be there with collection buckets.
