LOCAL stage stars took a break from preparing for their latest show to get familiar with some local vegetation.

The cast of 'Children of Eden', being performed by Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society (WODS), took a break from rehearsals to visit Webbs Garden Centre, at Wychbold, near Droitwich.

With music and lyrics written by Stephen Schwartz, of 'Wicked' and 'Godspell' fame, the 'epic' show follows the Biblical Genesis chapters from creation through to Noah and the Great Flood.

Webbs chairman, Ed Webb said, “Our delightful Riverside Gardens make the perfect backdrop for the cast to become familiar with their costumes for this exciting production.

"As a Worcestershire company, championing local communities, we are very happy to be one of the production sponsors and wish them every success with the show.”

Bruce Wyatt, of WODS said, “This production aims to provide something special with a family show that is rarely done in the amateur world of musical stage, but we are sure to rise to the occasion like many of our award winning productions in recent years.”

The show runs from Tuesday, April 19 until Saturday, April 23, with a matinee performance on Saturday. Tickets cost from £15, for details or to book call 01905 611427.
