A RADIO presenter who started his career on the airwaves has been shortlisted for a screen award.
Chris Keen launched his broadcasting career on Youthcomm Radio, BBC Hereford and Worcester and Free Radio.
The 27-year-old now works for British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) in Germany, and helped to create the ManOnTheChally Christmas 2015 advert nominated in the content for social media category at the Event and Visual Communication Association Screen Awards.
The two-and-a-half minute film highlights how many forces families spend time apart during the festive season, and Mr Keen played the main role of a soldier and dad.
Mr Keen said: "Being nominated for this award is amazing.
“We spent less than £50 making it, so it’s brilliant to be competing against the likes of Canon, Marriott and BMW who have much bigger budgets for videos and branding. We are all very excited and hope we come home with an award.”
The advert was first posted on Facebook last November, being viewed more than 508,000 times and receiving more than 3,700 likes.
The awards are being held on April 28, at a ceremony at Lindley Hall in Westminster.
