GENEROUS donations totalling £2,000 have been made to a pair of local charities by Worcester City Football Club.

At the club's last fixture of the season on Saturday, City directors Carl Heeley and Joe Murphy presented cheques for £1,000 to representatives from St Richard's Hospice and Acorns Children's Hospice.

Both donations were made using City's share of the FA Community Shield Fund Distribution 2015, which sees thousands of pounds donated to charities and projects every year.

The Worcester charities were chosen by the club's Board of Directors.

Representatives from St Richard's and Acorns were boardroom guests of the Club at the match which saw City finish the season in 17th place with a 2-2 draw against AFC Fylde.

Children from The Fort Royal Community School Football Team were mascots and led the team out onto the Aggborough pitch for the final time, as City is set to move to groundshare at Bromsgrove Sporting FC next season.
