AN inquest into the death of a hotel guest who died in Upton-upon-Severn will be held later this month.
Christopher James, aged 41, of Manor View, Par, Cornwall died in the early hours of Sunday, July 5, after sustaining a head injury.
Mr James, who had been a guest at the White Lion Hotel, was found on the pavement in Upton High Street.
The medical cause of death, which has to be confirmed at the inquest, has been given as a diffuse cerebral odema (swelling of the brain) and cerebral contusion (a traumatic brain injury) and a closed head injury with a skull base fracture.
Police were called to the scene at 4.19am and he was declared dead at the scene by a paramedic.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed they received a call at 4.20am to reports of a man not breathing, sending one rapid response vehicle, an ambulance and a paramedic officer.
The inquest was opened on Thursday, July 9, 2015.
The hearing will take place at Worcestershire Coroner's Court on Friday, May 20, at 10am.
