YOUNGSTERS from a Droitwich school enjoyed a visit from animated author E.R. Reilly.

The children from Westacre Middle School were particularly captivated by the author's funny anecdotes, quips and expressive tones.

They heard about his books including The Look Outs and scary stories based around real life circumstances.

The children were then able to meet Mr Reilly and buy signed copies of his books.

Paul Barber, the school's assistant headteacher, said: "This day was another wonderful opportunity for our children, who were truly inspired by meeting a real-life author.

"It was great to see the children so enthused by his stories, and then so excited about reading more of them themselves. As a school, we place much importance on reading each and every day, and are very thankful to ER Reilly for helping share such key messages with our pupils."

The visit took place on Tuesday, May 3.
