A TEAM of staff from St Peter's First School in Droitwich are getting ready for a 50-mile charity walk.

Headteacher Tracey O’Keeffe-Pullan, Susanna Taylor, Gail Hodnett and Steph Walker are taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Diamond Challenge to raise money for young people in the West Midlands.

The four day challenge consists of a demanding trek across the Snowdonia National Park Rhinogydd range.

Starting from the Aberdovey area, the adventurers will walk approximately 50 miles with 4,400m ascents and descents to their destination of Harlech.

They will be camping out for the three nights, so they will need to carry food supplies, tent, clothes, bedding, water, and other essentials.

The money they raise will help fund kit required for Duke of Edinburgh young challengers to complete their Awards in the West Midlands area.
