CHILDREN at a Worcester school have won a national poster competition.
A poster celebrating the green space outside the reception class at Oldbury Park Primary School received the most online votes as part of the competition for British Science week.
The children from class RJ, worked collaboratively to create the poster which featured drawings of flowers and minibeasts they had observed in the school environment.
The poster was shortlisted from 1,600 entries for the Artsmark category, which aimed to celebrate posters that demonstrated ‘creativity and culture’.
The children were encouraged to join in science week by science co-ordinator and year 5 teacher Sharon Condon.
Ms Condon said: “This year’s theme was spaces and was aimed at getting the children to think about spaces in which science can take place.”
Pupils throughout the school took part in a variety of science activities throughout the week.
The children were delighted to be sent sets of outdoor games to play with together in their green space.
