Perdiswell Primary School held its annual Eco-Day on Friday with a host of activities taking place.

The School has held such days since it became part of the Eco-School Programme, which provide a framework to help schools use sustainable energy.

Children from both Key Stages sold items including plants grown by the school Eco-Club to begin the day.

The Assistant Head of Key Stage Two Peter Jones said: "Whenever we hold this event it is a big success.

"The children love going outside to work and having the non-uniform day.

"We think it is very important to promote to the pupils the importance of the environment and they really love learning more about the school environment as well as working to help it."

The pupils also attended assemblies led by Becky Farier of the Vale Wildlife Hospital as well as Key Stage One children enjoying a performance of Mega Mechanics performed by London-based Theatre company Timezones Theatre.

The children even got to take part in some of the performance, helping to design a fairground ride.

Key Stage Two also got to see a theatre performance, called Future Town which feature Science, Geography and Design Technology and pupils learn how to establish a settlement on a new planet.

The Day ended with a raffle of over 60 prizes donated by local groups and sports teams including tickets to see Worcestershire County Cricket Team.
