THERE was not a dry eye in the house at the wedding of Ed and Aimee Burton - and not just because it was a beautiful day.

The musical couple surprised guests in the middle of the wedding breakfast with a rendition of The Prayer by Celine Dion featuring Andrea Bocelli backed by the choir they both perform in.

The performance with Worcester-based singing group Colla Voce at The Pear Tree Inn, Smite, moved guests so much that there were a few tears.

The moment was caught on camera by guest Andy Kelsall.

Groom Mr Burton said: "We both sing in Colla Voce and they sang during the ceremony at the church.

"Then we had an idea that they should also perform again but the guests didn't know the details and didn't know we were going to sing as well so it was a bit of a surprise.

"There were a few tears."

Mr Burton, from Suckley met his future wife, who grew up in Claines, on a performing arts course at Worcester Technology College and they now live in Malvern.

Mrs Burton has been a member of Colla Voce since she was 17 while her husband joined three years ago.

They married at St Stephen's Church in Barbourne on Saturday, May 21.

"We had rehearsed with the choir at nights over four weeks but we don't usually do the song as a duet, we usually do it as a choir.

"I was alright about doing it but my wife was a bit nervous, I had to pull her arm a bit to do the duet but she was fantastic.

"There was a fantastic reaction and a few tears of joy.

"We had an absolutely lovely day."
