MEMBERS of a Kidderminster church youth club recently took part in the Clean for the Queen campaign.

The youngsters from the youth club at St John’s Church worked together to tidy up the area outside the church wall.

Heather Prangley said: “They all wore protective gloves, worked with grabbers and put any rubbish into the purple Clean for the Queen sacks bearing the special logo.

“Some even wore crowns. We had great fun.

“After the cleaning we sowed wild flower seeds in the older part of the churchyard. We hope it may become a haven for butterflies, bees and other insects.

“We will all enjoy watching the flowers grow over the summer and hope some may even be visible in time for people to admire as they visit our Flower Festivals – to make the Queen’s 90th Birthday this coming weekend.”
