A GROUP of travellers have parked their caravans on Worcester's Pitchcroft car park, next to the Swan Theatre.
The car park is owned by Worcester City Council, and a spokesman said this morning that the council's legal department is investigating the issue.
The travellers are thought to be a group of French travellers who have visited Worcester before.
A Worcester News reporter approached the group for a comment, but they did not wish to speak.
UPDATE:
A council spokesman said this afternoon: “We have today served a notice on the travellers ordering them to leave the site.
“They have been summoned to appear at the County Court tomorrow at 10.30am, where we expect a notice of possession to be granted requiring them to leave immediately.
“If that is not complied with immediately we will have the power to engage bailiffs to remove them from the site.”
