A FOOD and drink themed messy church session will be held at St Andrew's Church in Droitwich.

This month's messy church is themed to tie in with the much-anticipated Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival, which runs from Saturday, June 18 to Sunday, June 19.

Children can come along to the church, in St Andrew's Street, from 10am to 12pm on the Saturday to enjoy a host of creative activities.

A special emphasis will be placed on the Bible story of Jesus feeding the 5,000, with children able to make spongy fish, loaves, fish baskets and necklaces.

The Reverend Bev Jameson, team vicar for Droitwich Spa, Salwarpe and Hindlip with Martin Hussingtree, said: "With so much good food and drink on display in Droitwich that day, we had to talk about feeding the 5,000."

There will be songs, a short talk and a free lunch of sandwiches and cake.

Messy Church is free and open to all children of all ages accompanied by an adult.
