A SEA of hand-made flowers will cluster around the base of St Andrew’s Spire in Worcester to create a colourful celebration garden.

St Richard's Hospice plans to transform the area with 1,000 forget-me-not clusters, to help raise money to fund its palliative care service in Worcestershire.

The flowers will be installed on Saturday, August 13 and will remain in place until Bank Holiday Monday, August 29.

St Richard's Hospice chief executive Mark Jackson said: "The forget-me-nots will create a memorable and stunning garden which will be an ideal focal point for celebration and reflection.

"We only have 1,000 forget-me-not clusters and are hoping they will prove very popular with the people of Worcestershire."

The display, which will take place during Worcester Festival, is reminiscent of the poppies planted in the grounds of the Tower of London for Remembrance Day.

Residents are being encouraged to celebrate someone or something special with one of the beautiful forget-me-not clusters in the display, which they can later take home as a keepsake or a gift.

Contributions to help create this one-off installation will fund St Richard’s care of patients and families in Worcestershire.

Donors will be invited to pick a flower from the garden on Bank Holiday Monday, 29th August, collect from the hospice or via post after the installation is dismantled.
