FOOTBALL fans in Worcester crowded around their nearest TV screens to watch the England Wales Euro 2016 match.

Hundreds of supporters flocked to the city's pubs, while many gathered to watch the game on computer screens in the office.

Youngsters at Oasis Academy in Warndon were treated to watching the match in the school hall, while pupils at Westacre Middle School in Droitwich were also allowed to enjoy the game.

Mode, in Angel Place, was packed with fans for England's second match of the contest on Thursday afternoon.

Speaking ahead of the game, Dave Moriarty, 22, from Worcester said he was feeling "nervous" about whether England would win.

Friends Harry Payne, 24, Rosanna Davis, 25, and Aaron White, 21, from Worcester had brought Queen masks along to the game for extra luck.

Mr White, speaking before kick-off, said: "It is a must win. We can't do anything else, we need those points. We can't go out to Wales today."

Many watching in Mode predicted a one - nil score to England, but as the final whistle blew the team had clinched a 2 - 1 win against Wales with Daniel Sturridge scoring the deciding goal in injury time.

Ade Attwood, 32, who was also watching in Mode successfully predicted yesterday's score.

The Worcester resident said: "We will win 2 - 1, confidence!"

Celebrating the win were jubilant punters at The Brewer's Arms in Comer Road, Worcester, while drinkers at The Prince of Wales, in Windermere Drive, also enjoyed the game.
