STUDENTS from five schools took part in a day exploring the magic of science.
The event was hosted by Bowbrook House and saw a visit from Salina Kermode, a Cambridge University graduate who now specialises in working with chemicals at Warwick University.
Year 6 pupils tried out a variety of activities around Chemistry, Biology and Physics and were involved in demonstrations including one where Ethanol was used as jet engine fuel.
They were able to mix chemicals together in test tubes to look at temperature changes, colour changes and making a rainbow.
The children were told that scientists will be important in ensuring the world finds a strong, clean supply of fuel and energy.
