A MAN has been arrested and charged after a maintenance van crashed into three parked car on Sunday morning.

The van was being driven along Bath Road at about 5am when it crashed into the cars.

One eyewitness told the Worcester News the driver of a van damaged three parked vehicles by the Texaco garage before pulling up and running away.

Police were later seen removing the van and debris.

The witness described the vehicle as a 'Highways Agency' van - but Highways England says it has investigated and does not believe this to be the case.

A spokesman said: "We do not believe this to be a Highways England vehicle".

West Mercia Police said the company which owned the van had "not been specified" but it was recorded as a maintenance van.

Ben Price, aged 27, of Crookbarrow Road, Norton has been charged with driving with alcohol level above the legal limit.

He will appear at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday, August 4.
