A CARNIVAL will return to a Worcestershire village after an absence of almost 30 years.
Badsey Carnival will return on Saturday with a procession and floats as well as a fair and barbecue.
Mike Tennant, carnival secretary, said the last carnival is believed to have been held in 1987 though nobody is sure why it ever stopped.
The processions will leave Badsey Remembrance Hall at 12pm and will travel through the village until it reaches Badsey Recreation Club, Ballards Park.
At the club, there will be a fair and barbecue as well as various stalls with money raised going to St Richard's Hospice.
Mr Tennant said: "Lots of people are giving up their time for free and it looks like it will be good weather, fingers crossed.
"The last time it happened was in 1987 but nobody has any idea why it stopped so we are bringing it back."
