ELDERLY visitors enjoyed a "wonderful" afternoon tea party hosted by Croome Court, near Worcester.

The guests were all members of Contact the Elderly - a social group set up in South Worcestershire for older members of the community to make new friends.

Croome Court hosted the group's July session, with general manager Michael Smith reserving a table for nine guests and volunteers.

Michelle Wickenden, of Contact the Elderly, said: "To our amazement, Croome Park's catering manager Jayne Bosley and her staff pulled out all the stops at this very special venue to give our elderly guests a much needed change of scenery and a wonderful experience.

"Many of the group are unable to get out of their homes due to mobility issues and or no family or relatives in the area.

"The guests enjoyed a beautifully laid table and afternoon tea of sandwiches and cakes with plenty of tea.

"They were given the opportunity to visit the incredible museum, grounds and gift shop to finish off the wonderful day.

"The guests had an incredible time Croome Park and its staff were truly magnificent and couldn't have done more.

"A huge thank you to everyone who helped to make this a really unforgettable day for our elderly guests."
