UPDATED 4pm:

Severn Trent says that water supplies are starting to return to the areas affected in Malvern, following a burst pipe yesterday evening in Powick.

The company said: "Whilst we move water around our system to restore supplies, some customers may be experiencing poor pressure, intermittent supply or discoloured/cloudy water.

"If you find your supply is cloudy, fill a glass of water and if it clears from the bottom of the glass upwards then these are tiny air bubbles in the water.

"Although unappealing, we have no reason to believe there is any risk to your health, however we understand that whilst the supply is discoloured you may choose not to drink the water.

"Our teams are working around the clock to get everything back to normal as quickly as possible and we'd like to apologise to everyone who has been affected."

RESIDENTS of Powick and Malvern may be suffering a loss of water supply after a mains pipe burst yesterday, warns Severn Trent.

The water main under the A449 at Powick burst on Friday, flooding the road and causing delays to traffic between Malvern and Worcester.

It a statement issued this morning, Severn Trent says that because of the burst, water supplies may be off or at low pressure for some of its customers.

"Our teams have been on site working around the clock to get this pipe fixed and everything back to normal as quickly as possible.

"We know how difficult it is to have no water, especially at this time of day, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience this may be causing. We’d like to reassure our customers that we’re doing everything we can to get the water supplies back on as soon as we can.

"We’re moving water around our network of pipes and we’re also bringing water into the area in tankers and we’d like to apologise for any disruption or noise this may cause.

"We’re hoping that most customers will have their supply back on in the next few hours."

The affected areas include post codes WR14 (Malvern) and WR2 (Powick and Hallow).
