ROADSHOWS are to be held across Worcestershire to help the public learn more about the libraries and adult learning programmes available.

The Worcestershire County Council organised events are designed to provide an opportunity for library visitors to talk to staff about the various community learning events.

Annually more than 3,000 adults benefit from accessing a range of learning in county venues including libraries, schools and community centres.

Visitors to the roadshows can also suggest courses they feel would be popular in the future, and take part in a free drop in workshop to create a piece of jewellery in five minutes.

Four roadshows are being held at Bromsgrove Library on Tuesday, August 30, Kidderminster Library on Thursday, September 1, Redditch Library on Monday, September 5, and at Droitwich Library on Wednesday, September 7.

All roadshows take place between 10am and noon.

Councillor Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member with responsibility for localism and communities, said: "There are many benefits from involvement with adult community learning, and courses available in a wide variety of areas including employment, ICT and digital media, creative and artistic courses, languages and health improvement.

"Whether people are looking to advance their knowledge or meet new people while having fun learning something new, I would encourage anybody to consider adult community learning."
