WORCESTER beat visitors Tewkesbury by 24 shots 98-74 after winning on four of the five triples.

The city were level at 22-22 after five ends and only led by three at halfway.

Worcester increased the lead to nine at 15 ends and then eased home.

John Weston’s triple were all-square at eight ends and then scored on nine of the remaining 10 to win by 21.

After picking up a seven, five and four, Mick Bullock’s triple only won by six.

With the scores level after 12 ends, Ron Ling’s trio went on to triumph by six.

Ian Hunt’s triple snatched a four-shot victory.

Worcester gained a seven-shot 79-72 victory over city neighbours St Dunstans at Wood Terrace.

Making a steady start, Worcester led by seven after five ends, which increased to 16 at halfway.

With three ends left, St Dunstans reduced the deficit to 10 and then further cut the lead to one.

But, with four of the five home triples picking up shots on the final end, Worcester snatched a narrow victory.

Leading the way for Worcester was Bullock, who gained a 13-shot victory.

Other victories came from Tony Styles (6), Hunt (5) and Andy Cook (2).

St Dunstans’ only winning triple came from Mark Atkins by 19.
