CHILDREN have just two weeks left to enjoy a fun exhibition inspired by illustrator Nick Sharratt at Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum.

The interactive show, named Pirates, Pants and Wellyphants, features many weird and wonderful activities from designing a pair of pants to racing the Hundred-Mile-an-Hour Dog.

Visitor Teresa Doran, aged 12, said: "The exhibition is full of things you wouldn't expect, from super large underwear to doodling on walls.

"I copied some of Nick's drawings on a light box and then raced my favourite character Streaker, the Hundred-Mile-An-Hour-Dog against my older (and slower) sister's robodog.

"You can see how Nick works on video and read his old school report – his spellings were imaginative like mine!

"There is a nice little reading area with colourful, comfy beanbags and you can chill out while colouring your own pants (paper ones, anyway)."

Exuberant drawings inspired by Mr Sharratt - who has worked with children's author Jacqueline Wilson - are filling the exhibition's wipe-clean wall, while youngsters have also enjoyed the costume box containing illustrated outfits from jelly hats to mermaids' tails.

More than 10,000 guests have visited the exhibition so far, transforming the gallery into a hive of creativity.

It will close on Saturday, September 3. It is open Monday to Saturday, from 10.30am to 4.30pm, and is closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
