A GREAT day out for all the family is promised at the Alfrick and Lulsley Show on Saturday, September 3.

Now in its 65th year, the show offers plenty of things to do, for young and old alike.

Visitors will have the opportunity to try their hands at circus skills in the children's big top, take a ride on Smiley the Train around the showground, visit the horticultural marquee with its hundreds of exhibits, enrol their canine chums in the exemption dog show, or just relax with the alpacas.

Youngsters can enjoy the Punch and Judy, while for older showgoers there is the chance to try out rifle shooting, archery or skittles.

The show also includes Chocolate Workshops and a variety of activities, puzzles and games, whilst local food producers will be showcasing their artisan breads, wines and produce.

Dozens of stalls and sideshows will be there alongside a carousel, face painting, jazz band and much more.

There will be a bar and barbecue, and food and drink for all tastes, and petrolheads will be able to enjoy the displays of classic and vintage cars, tractors and motorcycles.

There is a full programme of entertainment in the arena, including terrier dog racing by Cyril the Squirrel and belly dancing from Bellysimmo, and the show will be compered by Mike George of BBC Hereford and Worcester.

And the show has not one but two enthralling aerial highlights, with a flypast by the Spitfire of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, followed later in the afternoon by a fantastic stunt aerobatic display from Neil Parkinson and his Pitts Stunt biplane.

David Hughes of the show committee said: "The annual show, which attracts up to 3,000 visitors, raises thousands of pounds for local charities and organisations."

Entry to all of this is only £3 per adult and £1 for children up to 16 years, and parking is free.

The show is on the village playing field and will be well signposted on the day. The gates open at 12.30pm.
