Police are appealing for the owner of a dog that attacked a woman in Cirencester.

The woman was bitten by a dog at the junction of Upper Churnside and St Mary’s Road last Thursday (September 15).

It happened between 3.05pm and 3.25pm, when the victim was walking towards a woman with a small child in a pushchair and two dogs on leads on either side.

The victim moved aside to let them past when without warning, one of the dogs lunged at her and bit her on the leg, causing minor injuries.

The dog owner refused to give the victim any of her details and appeared unconcerned.

She is described as white, in her 30s or 40s, around 5ft1, with a round face and short, straight blonde hair. She may have been doing the school run.

One of the dogs was small and brown, the other which bit the victim was of medium size, with short white hair, wearing a long pointed muzzle. It was possibly a lurcher or whippet type dog.

Anyone who thinks they know the woman, or who saw the incident, should call police on 101 quoting incident 394 of 15 September.
