THE owner of a dog that allegedly attacked a woman in Cirencester has come forward after a police appeal.
Police asked for information earlier today following an incident last Thursday, September 15, at the junction of Upper Churnside and St Mary’s Road.
Sometime between 3.05pm and 3.25pm, a woman was walking towards another woman with a small child in a pushchair and two dogs on leads on either side.
The alleged victim said she moved aside to let the woman and dogs pass when, without warning, one of the dogs lunged at her and bit her on the leg, causing minor injuries.
A police spokeswoman said: "Following our appeal earlier today about a woman being bitten by a dog in Cirencester, the dog owner has now come forward.
"She attended Cirencester Police Station after seeing the appeal and will be spoken to in due course."
