THE Archbishop of Canterbury will answer questions from Worcester people during his visit to the city next weekend.

The question and answer session will be part of a public event at the University of Worcester Arena at 7pm on Friday, October 7.

The Most Reverend Justin Welby will be at the arena to face questions from Radio 2 presenter Jeremy Vine.

The Bishop of Worcester, Rt Rev Dr John Inge, said: “Archbishop Justin is always happy to answer questions on a wide range of topics and you can be sure that Jeremy Vine won’t shy away from the challenging ones. Plus, if there’s always been something that you’ve wanted to ask him, this is a brilliant opportunity to put your question to him directly.”

The Archbishop will also visit Worcester Cathedral, the Three Counties Showground in Malvern and a refugee centre in Dudley during his visit to the Diocese of Worcester from Friday, October 7 to Sunday, October 9.

He arrives at Shrub Hill station just before 10.45am on Friday where he will be greeted by singing students from Regency High School.

He will travel in one of the school’s minibuses to Worcester Cathedral for an event with pupils from 74 primary schools and eight secondary schools.

Three pupils who have written prayers as part of a competition will have the opportunity to read them and will be presented with a Peruvian cross by the Archbishop.

On Friday afternoon, the Archbishop will enjoy afternoon tea by the Women’s Institute at the Three Counties Showground and will talk with the rural community.

The Archbishop will also meet the public at a visit to St Stephen’s Church in Redditch on Saturday and to the Merry Hill Shopping Centre on Sunday.

Tickets for the event at Worcester Arena cost £5 and are available online at ticketline.co.uk/the-archbishop-of-canterbury-in-conversation.
