A COLOURFUL video created by business graduates from a start-up technology firm will help Acorns Children's Hospice reach out to and engage with health and social care providers.

Platinum Videos has produced a short animated ‘explainer’ video for Acorns in a bid to encourage more statutory funding bodies to consider using the charity’s services.

The film follows the story of Ellie, a child living with a life shortening condition, and shows the pressure this can place on the family.

Through colourful graphics, the animation highlights how Acorns, which has a hospice in Bath Road, Worcester, can help to reduce this stress and pressure and promote resilience in the family.

Jenny Lake, statutory sector engagement officer, said: "We turned to Platinum Videos to help us get across to commissioners and other health and social care professionals how our care provision can in turn reduce demand on other services and help to meet future health and social care provision challenges.

"We needed something that was short, engaging and memorable and an explainer video is the perfect tool."

Platinum Videos set up in April this year and was founded by business graduates Dan Stewart and Mitch Blackham.

Five months later they are a team of five with a view to becoming a fully-fledged digital marketing agency.

Mr Blackham said: "Our mission it is to help businesses and organisations capture the attention of their customers and stakeholders through the use of potent explainer videos.

"Our approach is to offer complete flexibility to give clients the perfect bespoke video.

"We were delighted to work with Acorns.

"Not only is it a hugely important charity in the region, it was a really interesting project to work on to help them communicate in a unique way to quite a specialised target audience."

Acorns Children’s Hospice cares for children living with life shortening conditions and provides supports to their families across the Midlands and the Three Counties.
