POLICE have named the man whose body was found at a flat in Tolladine Road, Worcester, as David Jones.

The 47-year-old was discovered at the property, close to the junction with Middle Hollow Drive, at around 2am on Monday.

West Mercia Police says "at this time" no further action will be taken against a 46-year-old woman, who was arrested on suspicion of murder and later released on bail.

Detective Chief Inspector Ian Wall, who is leading the investigation said: "Following the post mortem a definitive cause of death is still unknown and the death continues to be treated as unexplained.

"However, there is nothing to suggest David’s death was caused by external factors and we are not seeking anybody else in connection with the incident."

Police were still at the scene on Tuesday morning, and a post mortem was also due to take place yesterday.

On Monday, a walkway between two blocks of flats was cordoned off by police, while forensics teams worked at the first floor flat.

Three forensics vans, two police cars and a van from Warwickshire Police were at the scene.

Matt Hoskins, aged 30, who lives in the neighbouring block of flats, said: "At first it was quite a shock. It took a little while to get over.

"It is not every day you walk out and find the police in the full white suits and a forensics investigation.

"The neighbours from the other side must be quite shaken."

The property involved in the incident is managed by Fortis.

A spokesman for the housing association said it could not comment, as it was an ongoing police investigation.
