BUDDING chefs are being encouraged to put their bake off skills to the test for a competition helping to raise money for charity.

YMCA Worcestershire is hosting its annual Great Bake Off event on Saturday, October 29.

Worcester residents are being encouraged to get baking for the event being held at the YMCA's Worcester hostel, in Henwick Road.

The Bake Off is free to enter and is open to county bakers of all experience, with their creations presented to a judging panel.

There are four categories to enter classic bake, junior star baker, cupcake creation and themed bake, as well as the ultimate star baker prize.

A raffle is also being held, with Worcestershire companies encouraged to donate prizes for it.

As well as the competition there will be various things to see and do on the day, including workshops, stalls, a pop up tea room and a vintage bake sale.

There is a £5 cost to set up a stall.

To take part in the bake off, or provide a stall at the bake off event, call Charlotte on 01905423197 or email fundraising@ymcaworcestershire.org.uk.

The event takes place between 1pm and 4pm.
