PUPILS from a Worcester school have enjoyed the famous sights of Italy.
A group of 54 students and teaching staff have recently returned from an educational geography based exploration in Italy.
Year 8, 9 and 10 students from Nunnery Wood High School flew to Rome in July, where they spent their first day on a walking tour.
They saw the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and took a tour of the Colosseum, before travelling onto Sorrento, which was their base for the rest of the trip.
The students also climbed up Mount Vesuvius and took in a trip to Pompeii and later visited the ancient town of Herculaneum.
The following two days were packed with a boat trip from Sorrento across to the Island of Capri and a visit to a traditional, family run gelateria where they all tried their hand at making ice cream.
The pupils took a coach trip along the Amalfi Coast and also stopped at a Solfatara volcanic crater near Naples, where they were able to see how this dormant volcano still emits jets of steam with sulphurous fumes.
Lisa Stevens, head of art said: "With such a packed itinerary, this was a wonderful opportunity to get to know Italy and many special memories were made.
"On behalf of all the students and accompanying staff, we would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Scoby and Mr Allen for organising such an unforgettable trip."
