WORCESTER'S newest restaurant and bar is set to be unveiled later this week, ahead of being opened to the public next week.

HANBAO, the brainchild of Worcester owners, brothers Seb and Alex Lam, is being unveiled with the big launch party taking place this Thursday.

The restaurant and bar on Foregate Street, which will be open seven days a week, will be perfect for burger-lovers as it serves culturally-inspired burgers including It’s Peanut Butter Jelly Time, Hong Kong Phoeey and Piggie Smalls.

Hanbao is based in a building with a Grade II listed frontage, but there is a modern interior inspired by the owners' travels to cities including Hong Kong and New York.

The brand identity for Hanbao was designed by Greg Russell from Design Religion, while the illustration for the logo is the creation of Rob Draper, who works with worldwide brands such as Nike and Gap.

Seb Lam said: "We are born and raised here, so wanted to open a restaurant and bar that contrasts with other venues in Worcester, giving a big city feel, with cool, global influences on the menu and in the styling.

"HANBAO is Mandarin for burger, and our menu is taking street food to the next level.

"We’ve had a lot of questions about what we are doing behind the window covers.

"Thursday is the time for everyone to see what we are all about.”

HANBAO's launch party takes place from 6pm this Thursday, October 20.
