THOUSANDS of pounds were raised during a glitzy ball for a charity which has touched the lives of two women.

Kat Kovacs and Sam Littleton organised the do as a way to thank British Heart Foundation for all the support it had given them and their families over the years.

The pair described the Fight For Every Heartbeat Ball as a massive success which raised over £3,150 with money still coming in after the event at Stourport Manor Hotel.

Mrs Littleton lost her mum Lynn suddenly to coronary heart disease in 2014 while Mrs Kovacs' mum Clare diagnosed with heart failure at a young age of 37.

Mrs Kovacs said: "We had a brilliant turnout and everyone was in the mood to party as well as raising lots of money for The British Heart Foundation.

"Our total so far is a massive £3156.71 with more money still to be accounted for from the percentage of the bar takings that Stourport Manor Hotel kindly donated.

"The raffle and auction raised a lot of money too."

Former X Factor contestant Gathan Cheema performed for guests along with the band Remedy.

Presenting the evening was Rob Stride while photographer Seb Stead captured the event.

Mrs Kovacs added: "We cannot have raised as much as we did without the support of friends, family, colleagues and the local community.

"We are so pleased with the outcome of this event, we raised more than we thought we could and the whole night was just brilliant.

"We hope we did The British Heart Foundation proud."

Raffle and auction prizes were donated by Pandora, Lush, Hughes Electricals, B&Q, Boots, Toni & Guy, Love For Nails by Mary Ta and more.
