A WOMAN whose family members suffer from muscular dystrophy has organised a Halloween party to raise money for charity.

Maria Irish is planning the karaoke disco at Coppertops, Oldbury Road, on Sunday in aid of Muscular Dystrophy UK - but has run into difficulties finding raffle prizes.

She hopes to raise as much as possible for the charity because two family members suffer with the condition.

Mrs Irish does not want to let them or the charity down and is appealing to Worcester News readers for help.

The 29-year-old from St Peter's said: "There are just a few last minute things I need.

"I know there are lots of things going on at the moment and lots of different charities but Muscular Dystrophy is a charity which is reliant on donations.

"I've been trying hard for weeks to get this event together and have been left feeling disappointed and let down.

"Ive had so many refusal emails to help towards my fundraiser. Ive been left quite saddened."

She said the evening would be a great night out for families - especially those who did not want their children trick or treating.

People will be able to enjoy apple bobbing, a best dressed competition as well as a disco, karaoke and a singer.

The karaoke disco takes place from 7pm until 12am with tickets available costing £2 in advance or £3 on the door.

Under fives free.
