LITTER picking, garden planting and visiting care homes will be some of the ways young Christians will be serving the community over the next three days.

The Noise Worcester launched in the city today (Thursday) with 90 young people taking part in projects throughout the city.

This year groups will be serving in Dines Green, Hallow, St John's, London Road, St Peter's and the city centre doing everything from litter picking to community garden planting, painting community centres to visiting care homes.

It runs until Saturday with children aged from ten to 18 from churches in Worcestershire taking part.

Rev Amy Wearing, minister for youth at St Peter's Baptist Church, said: "It is great to have so many young people signed up wanting to help others in our city.

"Last year was a real success and we hope that this year will build on that with young people deepening friendships and having fun whilst blessing others."

This year it is working with several organisations including the Worcestershire Homelessness Christmas Shoebox Appeal, Maggs Day Centre, The Good Soil Trust, The Green Centre and Foodbank.
