A DRIVER has been jailed for causing death by dangerous driving.

Shirley Glover, 50, admitted causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving.

Glover confirmed she was driving a Black Volvo XC60 which crashed, resulting in the death of Stuart Frost.

She was sentenced to 2 years 9 months for each offence, to run concurrently.

She has also been disqualified from driving for five years and is required to take an extended re-test.

Mr Frost's partner Emma Lunn also suffered serious injuries on the A450 near Shenstone.

Mr Frost's parents Kath and Ian Frost have paid tribute to him saying: "Stuart, in our eyes, was the perfect son. We are totally devastated at his death.

"We miss him terribly and we are unlikely to recover fully from it. Life will never be the same again"

His fiancée Emma added: "He inspired so many people and has left a huge hole with so many people and so many areas of his life.

"Stuart was a keen member of the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA), I am proud to say that I did the Birmingham half marathon for SARA two weeks ago and raised over £1000 in memory of Stuart.''

PC 2289 Ian Sweeney of West Mercia Police said: "This was a particularly tragic collision to deal with, which resulted in a very complex and intensive investigation that took several months to complete.

"I would like to thank all the witnesses that came forward to assist us with our enquiries.

"The information that they provided was crucial to the investigation.

"The after-effects of this collision will have a profound and life long effect on all involved.

"Our advice to drivers is that if you ever feel tired or unwell, or are having difficulty concentrating, always stop and take a break and only ever continue your journey if safe to do so.

"We also remind drivers to be mindful of the effects any medication they may be taking can have on them whilst driving.

"We urge people to always seek the advice of their doctor and notify the DVLA of any special medical circumstances or disabilities."

The crash happened on Monday March 21.
