CAN you help police find two cars stolen from driveways after a spate of car key burglaries across the city?

Officers have appealed for Worcester News readers' help to locate a white VW Golf and grey Audi A3 after six cars were stolen in a week after thieves grabbed car keys from unlocked homes.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the thefts and will appear at crown court next month.

A similar appeal in the newspaper to locate a BMW after a theft in 2014 helped officers find the stolen car within hours.

A second white VW Golf stolen from Droitwich was discovered today (Tuesday) in Tolladine.

Detective sergeant Jamie Francis has asked people to get in touch if they spot the cars which may have false number plates.

He said: "We are asking for help to locate a stolen white VW Golf and a grey Audi A3 S Line black edition that are still outstanding.

"The vehicles are likely to be parked in a cul-de-sac or car park and displaying false number plates.

"Please could readers report any vehicles of this sort that have not moved for a while or look out of place.

"We also want to highlight the fact that all of the offences were a result of insecure properties.

"Make sure you check your house is locked and secure before going to bed. Also ensure car keys are not easily visible through windows or letterboxes etc."

Priority CID is currently dealing with a linked series of car key burglaries that occurred in Worcester and Droitwich between November 11 and 18.

Thieves stole the Audi A3, registration FN11 BNZ, after entering a home in Oldbury Road, St John's, through an unlocked window between Monday and Tuesday last week.

On the same night, a home in Northwick Road was entered through an insecure rear door. Thieves stole car keys and took the white VW Golf, registration VN60 USB, which is still missing.

The white Golf found today (Tuesday) was taken along with a silver Audi A3 between Wednesday and Thursday last week from Clydesdale Road, Droitwich after thieves climbed through an unlocked window and stole the keys. Police discovered the stolen Audi on false number plates in Tolladine yesterday (Monday).

Two Mercedes were stolen from Monarch Drive, Worcester, after intruders entered through an open window and took two sets of keys overnight between Thursday and Friday.

Officers discovered the van in Perdiswell and the Mercedes A220 in Fernhill Heath four hours after the burglary was reported. Both were displaying false number plates.

The investigation by Priority CID officers identified a vehicle that may have been involved in the offences.

A red Renault Megane was stopped by officers in Perdiswell on Friday, November 18 and two men were detained.

The vehicle was found to be stolen and displaying false number plates.
