WEST Midlands MEP has been visiting the Worcester delivery office to see firsthand the hardworking Royal Mail staff during their busiest period of the year.

The UKIP MEP James Carver was shown around the office, and introduced to the postmen and women pulling out the stops to sort and deliver mail in the region during the Christmas period.

Mr Carver said: “At no other time is the hard work and dedication of postmen and women clearer than during the festive period.

“I thank them for the extraordinary lengths they go to, to ensure Christmas cards and presents are delivered to loved ones on time, and for everything they do all year round, come rain or shine.”

Glenn George, Royal Mail delivery office manager, said: “It was a pleasure to show Mr Carver our Christmas operation and to hear his kind words of encouragement and support.

“We are extremely proud of our postmen and women for all their hard work during the festive season and for continuing our proud history of delivering Christmas mail.”

Worcestershire residents are being reminded this year's posting dates for Christmas are: Tuesday, December 20 for Second Class mail, Wednesday, December 21 for First Class mail and Thursday, December 22 for Special Delivery.
