YOUNG apprentices learning a trade at Worcestershire hospitals were recognised at an awards ceremony.

Business administration apprentices, who work at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, were acknowledged at an event held at Sixways, in Worcester.

Among the winners was Megan Lloyd, an apprentice who works in the Ophthalmology and Rheumatology departments at both the Worcestershire Royal and Kidderminster Hospitals.

She won the 'Commerce Apprentice of the Year' for her fantastic work over the past 12 months.

"I have really enjoyed the past year working in the Rheumatology and Ophthalmology departments at Worcestershire Royal Hospital and Kidderminster Treatment Centre," she said.

"It has given me a chance to expand my skills and learn new ones and I am honoured to have been given this award."

The glittering ceremony was hosted by the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Group Training Associate and winners were handed their awards by Olympic gold medal-winning rower, Andrew Triggs-Hodge MBE.
