CHINESE government officials and business representatives visited Worcester as part of a European tour to explore business and cultural links.

The 10 strong delegation from the south-eastern Huizhou province met the Mayor Cllr Paul Denham and Cllr Adrian Gregson, leader of Worcester City Council, who took the visitors on a tour of the city, taking in the magnificent Cathedral, Friar Street and the riverside. The Mayor then welcomed the guests to the Guildhall Parlour.

Afterwards the Chinese party moved on to Worcestershire County Council's headquarters in Spetchley Road to sign a joint memorandum of understanding.

Cllr Gregson said: "We were delighted to show off Worcester’s heritage to the delegation, and to discuss potential investment opportunities in the city. The Chinese visitors were particularly impressed by the Mayor’s regalia in the Guildhall.”
