GENEROUS residents and staff at Worcestershire care homes made a generous donation to help elderly people in hospital over the Christmas period.
The nine Sanctuary Cares homes in the region held collections of gifts including toiletries, nail manicure, chocolates and biscuits, and wrapped them up to be delivered to their nearest hospital.
Hospitals and minor injury units, that received gifts included Pershore, Malvern, Droitwich and Worcestershire Royal Hospital - which was donated by staff and residents at Regent Residential Care Home in St Johns.
Activities leader at Regent, Bridie Gray, said: “It was so heart-warming that so many of our residents rallied behind the appeal – they all wanted to do their bit at spreading Christmas cheer to those in need.”
Valerie Auty, one of the residents at Regent added: "It’s a lovely idea that we are sending presents to our local hospital, everyone should get to open presents at Christmas."
