THE WINNERS have been announced for the Christmas windows display competition, which was organised by the town council.

Cllr Martin Eager said: "The Town Council's Christmas Lights Working Party were pleased to see so many retail stores and businesses decorate their windows.

"Shoppers declared that the shops who made the effort looked a lot more Christmassy than usual, and help get everybody into the festive mood along with the marvellous Christmas lights display."

Cllr Eager added: "The organiser of the competition, Cllr Jean Simpson, stated she hoped to make this a regular event and so draw more people to the town for Christmas shopping, she thought the competition was a positive step towards increasing footfall and shoppers to Ledbury during the run up to Christmas."

The four awards winners were as follows.

First place - David Gladwin of Sweet Memories who received a voucher for a meal for two with wine at the Walwyn Arms, Much Marcle.

The three other placed winners were Sharon Warren of Sue Ryder, Jan Canterdale and Clare McCloud of the Homend Muse Cafe and Janet Jones of Janet's Hair Salon, who all received Tesco and Homebase vouchers.
