ACOUSTIC hits and Britpop nostalgia will be the order of the evening at The Cube in Malvern, for a walk down Memory Lane to the 90s.

A spokesman said: "Back in Malvern by popular demand and this time together on stage at The Cube, the singer from Dodgy, Nigel Clark will join the singer from The Bluetones, Mark Morriss, for a night of acoustic hits.

"Big slices of Britpop guaranteed to take you back to your happy place. Interestingly, these guys used to share a house together before their band's were signed, so expect witty dialogue throughout the whole show."

In their late 1990s peak, Dodgy were at the forefront of Britpop-mania and behind many a classic track including Good Enough, Staying Out for the Summer, If You're Thinking of Me and Found You.

Nigel, who originally hails from Redditch, feels drawn to the Malvern Hills and all that goes with them, with their influence seeping into Dodgy's music.

He said: "I travel a lot these days and there's no prettier sight than seeing the Malverns as I drive up and down the M5 towards home."

It was actually The Bluetones who knocked Oasis’s top album (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? off the number one ?spot, almost 21years ago.

Back in 1996 the band’s debut album, Expecting To Fly, came straight into the album charts at number one.

It was legendary Radio One DJ John Peel who was responsible for getting The Bluetones noticed.

They recorded a number of studio sessions for Peel’s ?show in the early 90s and were eventually signed to a record company.

The date for the diary is Friday. February 3. The doors will open at 7pm.
